How to fix my relationhip and stop a breakup
There are many ways to fix relationships. Part of fixing is figuring out what it is that went wrong. Knowing the mistakes and issues that are occurring in the relationship is the first step in getting things back on track and making your relationship work. No one ever wants to throw in the towel, especially if children are involved or you have been together a long time, so instead we seek ways to fix what went wrong in the relationship.
The most important step in fixing a relationship is to get started now. The longer you delay and procrastinate on the issues occurring, the closer you are to the unwanted heartbreak. So the first step is this, take action and take it now.
The next thing you have to realize is that you cannot change the other person. If that is what you have been trying to do, the relationship is doomed. We cannot change the people around us, we can only adapt and change ourselves. And even if we did succeed in changing the other person, at some point the charade will end, they will show their true colours and everything will be done.
Another thing is to learn to forgive. Without forgiveness and the ability to move past what has happened, you will forever be dwelling in the past and lost the chance at a healthy, happy future. Do whatever you need to move forward. See a counselor, talk to a friend, just get it off your chest and move on.
Make sure the relationship you are fighting for is a healthy one. If you are fighting for an abusive one or one in which you are being destroyed or the other person is being destroyed, all the work in the world will not fix your relationship. It is better to move on now and start over than to further drag your heart through an unpleasant break up further down the road.
One more thing you need to ensure beforehand is whether or not the other person is willing to fix things. If only one person is fighting to fix a relationship you may as well give up now, as you will not be able to fix everything on your own.
The main key to fixing your relationship is wanting to fix it. You can’t give it a half shot. You need to be willing to work through everything and move forward with your relationship. Just like all things in life, relationships take work to make work and keep working. Fixing it doesn’t have to be difficult, you just need to take the initial steps to ensure your efforts won’t be in vain.
